Welcome to
Young Europe
The European Youth Parliament Belgium is a peer-to-peer educational programme that brings together young people from across Europe to debate pressing issues of our time. Its mission is to inspire and empower a young generation of informed, openminded, responsible, and active citizens that shape society and drive impact.
What we do
Through a wide range of non-formal and peer-led activities, the European Youth Parliament provides young people with spaces to develop opinions on current topics, build intercultural understanding and friendships across borders, as well as learn skills to positively shape the world around them.
International Forum Ghent
Ghent 2024 will gather 250 participants from the 1st of April until the 7th of April. For a week, the city will be transformed into the epicentre of youth engagement around the theme: “Confluence: A Year of Change”. Ghent 2024 will be a platform to empower young people from around the continent to take part in policy-making, engage with decision-makers, interact with others from different communities, and acquire the skills necessary to fully partake in today and tomorrow’s society.
All eyes will be on Ghent and Belgium in 2024 with Ghent as the European Youth Capital, the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and the elections for the European Parliament and other levels of government. Ghent 2024 will take place at the confluence of these important events, thus making it the ultimate moment to invite European youth to Belgium.

We were on the news!
In the autumn of 2022, Belgium hosted the 97th International Session of the European Youth Parliament for the fifth time since 1987. More than 250 young people gathered in Kortrijk to debate on contemporary issues. VRT NWS visited Kortrijk 2022 during the plenary session in the European Parliament.
They support us
We have a wide network of partners who contribute to the development of our youth.
Our main partner KU Leuven has been cooperating with EYP Belgium since 2018. Due to their financial, logistical and academic support, young Belgians and Europeans are able to experience democracy at first hand and learn about topics that will shape their future.
